These terms cover your use of the Tisai app and this website. By using Tisai you agree to them.
What Tisai is
Tisai answers questions about an area using tips shared by people who know it. Tips are personal knowledge and opinion. Hours, prices and conditions change, so check anything important, such as opening times, safety and accessibility, before relying on it. Tisai is not a substitute for official or emergency information.
Passes
Your first two answered questions in an area are free. An area pass costs $7, is a one-time purchase, lasts 72 hours, and does not renew. It covers the area you bought it for and the distance around it that you choose. Refunds are described in the refund policy. Prices may change for future purchases.
Contributing
- You must be 18 or older, and share only what you know first hand.
- No advertising, no personal information about other people, nothing unsafe or unlawful. If you own or work for a business you mention, say so; the tip will be labeled. We screen tips and may hold, edit for clarity, decline or remove them.
- You keep ownership of what you share, and you give Tisai a worldwide, non-exclusive license to store it, adapt it into tips, and use it to answer questions in the service.
How contributors earn
Seventy percent of each pass, after payment processing and app store fees, is shared among the contributors whose tips were used in that visitor's answers. When several people shared the same knowledge, they split the credit according to how much useful detail each version gives; equal knowledge earns equally. Some open visitor questions carry a fixed bounty for the first good answer. Earnings from a pass are reversed if that pass is refunded. Payouts are made through Stripe once your balance reaches $10 and you have completed Stripe's verification. You may instead convert earnings to pass credit; credit has no cash value and cannot be converted back. You are responsible for any taxes on what you earn. We may withhold earnings obtained through fraud or abuse.
Fair use
Do not misuse Tisai: no scraping, no automated questions, no attempts to manipulate rankings or earnings, no reselling of answers. We may suspend accounts that do.
The legal part
Tisai is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Tisai is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app.
