Privacy policy

Tisai is a travel guide whose answers come from tips shared by people who know a place. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why. We do not sell personal information, and we do not show ads.

What we collect

• Your account. You sign in with Apple. We receive an identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share them, your name and email.
• What you ask and what you share. The questions you ask, the conversations in which you share tips, and your ratings of answers. If you talk instead of typing, your speech is turned into text on your device; we receive the text, not the audio.
• Your area. With your permission, your approximate location while the app is open, so answers can favor places near you. You can use Tisai without sharing location by choosing an area yourself.
• Your travel taste. From how you ask, Tisai keeps a short note such as "traveling with two young kids, prefers quiet places" so it can pick tips that suit you. It is never built from a quiz or from other accounts, and it never records sensitive traits such as religion, health, ethnicity, sexuality or politics. You can read it and erase it at any time under Me.
• Payments. Pass purchases are handled by Apple or by Stripe. Contributor payouts are handled by Stripe, which collects the bank and identity details it needs directly. We never see or store your card or bank numbers.
• Basic technical data. Device type, app version and error reports, to keep the app working.

How we use it

To answer your questions, to turn what contributors say into tips, to screen tips for advertising, personal data and unsafe content, to work out which contributors helped with each answer so they can be paid, to prevent abuse, and to improve the service.

Contributors stay anonymous

Visitors never see a contributor's name or account. They see only a general description such as "someone who lives here, 8 years". Please do not include personal details about yourself or other people in your tips; tips containing personal data are declined.

Who helps us run Tisai

We share only what each provider needs to do its job: Anthropic (the AI that reads questions and tips and writes answers; it does not use this content to train its models), ElevenLabs (turns answer text into speech), Supabase (database hosting), Stripe and Apple (payments), and map and address services that receive place names and map positions, not your identity. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account and payment records for as long as your account is open and as long as tax and accounting rules require. Tips stay live until you remove them or they go stale. You can erase your taste note at any time.

Your choices

You can read and erase what Tisai has learned about your taste, remove your tips, turn off location, and delete your account and its data by writing to hello@tisai.app. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct or delete your information; we honor those requests from everyone.

Children

Tisai is not for children under 13, and contributors must be 18 or older.
